It's Fall on J Place

The "street", I use this term loosely, I live on decided to catch up with the rest of America. I walked outside this morning and all of the trees' leaves had turned a gorgeous shade of yellow and were falling off. For some reason, this just cracked me up.

Let me back up a little....

First of all, I live on J Place, this quaint brick-paved alleyway between two buildings of my apartment complex. It is absolutely lovely and makes me smile every day. It has about five very small and thin trees lining it. Because it is between two buildings, it doesn't get a lot of wind and such. So, I guess this prevented the elements from changing my trees. The funny part is that a rare thing happened about a month ago....it snowed! In Dallas, Texas! It was crazy and only lasted a few hours but there was a little white stuff......

Anyway, it was like God gave me a little present this morning with the yellow trees.

Well, Christmas has officially kicked off in Morganland. Blane and I had Christmas with his family last weekend, and he and I will be exchanging gifts tonight. Tomorrow, we will be making the 7 hour drive to my parents' for Christmas. I am incredibly excited. I have been hoping for a real snow, while we are there. So, if it does snow, know that I am smiling. I got my favorite perfume and a Keurig Coffee Maker from the Gibsons! I have used it two days now, and I am in love. I can't wait for someone else that drinks coffee to come over so I can make them some. Blane got me a new 32" TV for my birthday/Christmas and I have been enjoying it for almost two months now. However, he has no idea what I got him and I am anxious to see if he likes it.....

Well, that's all I have for now.

I will let you know if i get my snow!!!!

I Made It!

Drumroll Please.....

I am officially 25% done with my MBA. Finals were this week, and I completely exhausted as my procrastination techniques are never quite as productive during finals. But, they are done and I have an entire month to catch up on life.
Well, kind of, I have to write a 10 page paper, but I don't think it will be that bad. I have so many things I want to get done over my break. Currently, however, I am still so exhausted I can't seem to muster up the motivation to get far from the couch.
Right around the corner is Christmas, and if you know me at all, you know my deep love for the holiday that has been in place since I was a very small child. I am happy to announce that this is a gene that was passed down to Darby too. According to Meghan, as I have to now live vicariously through her words about Darby, every waking moment she demands that the Christmas lights be on......that's my girl!
She is a big helper, and I believe today she is "helping" momma wrap presents. If you can't tell, I love her and miss her and she brightens up my day every time I talk to her on the phone and she says "Hi Sassy, Love you." Yes, she calls me Sassy, and yes, I love it. Obviously, Aunt Morgan is not the easiest name for a 2 year old to pronounce. So, my mom and sis came up with a handful of names (some not so nice), and for some reason, Sassy is what took. I'm not sure why, but I love it, and I think it is quite fitting.
I am so excited that Blane and I are going to get to go to my parent's for Christmas. I love all of our traditions and I look forward to them each and every year. Luckily, he gets 2.5 work days off. So, we won't be as rushed during the 7-hour trip as we normally are.
I am almost done Christmas shopping, and it has been no small feat. I have, for the first time every, purchased every single present online. (This was another great distraction while I was studying for finals). I have 2 left to buy, which is good since a week from today we are doing Blane's fam's Christmas.
Anyway, I know this update hasn't been very exciting, but I did promise to write after I was done with final....and I kept my word. I have a busy week ahead...surely it will give me something interesting to report.

Until then......Haul out the Holly....
